Benihana’s Dojo Sushi is a culinary experience that teaches teens, 13 to 17 years old, how to make sushi by giving them an opportunity to create their own sushi masterpieces, while tasting Benihana’s flavorful smoothie combinations. Enjoy this interactive and fun Dojo Sushi experience for $50 per person. This educational class is offered a few times a year at each Benihana restaurant.

What is Dojo Sushi?

Dojo Sushi is a fun, interactive class designed to teach your teen how to make sushi. With the help of one of our Master Sushi Chefs, your teen will learn to make two types of Nigiri sushi plus the classic California Roll.

How much does it cost?

The price for a Benihana Dojo Sushi class is $50 per teen, which includes tax and gratuity.

What does the price of a Dojo Sushi class include?

Dojo Sushi begins with appetizers (edamame and chicken tempura) and a soft drink. In addition to making their own sushi, teens sample a variety of delicious Benihana smoothies. Each student receives a complimentary Benihana apron, an Awesome Achievement Award and a commemorative photo with their Master Sushi Chef.

How do I make a reservation?

Refer to our calendar of upcoming Dojo Sushi classes on benihana.com, and contact the Benihana restaurant nearest you that has scheduled this event. Check back often as classes are added throughout the year. You can also check our other sushi classes for youth and adults.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept any major credit card – VISA, Mastercard, Discover and American Express.

Can you hold a place for my teen without a payment?

No, the Dojo Sushi classes are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis and in order for us to hold a place for your teen, we must receive your payment.

What if I have to cancel? Will you refund my money?

There are no refunds for the Dojo Sushi events.

Will there be raw fish?

Dojo Sushi includes salmon nigiri, which is uncooked. Other ingredients include cooked shrimp, imitation crab mix with mayonnaise, avocado, cucumber, sushi rice, nori, sesame seeds and soy sauce.  The inclusion of any specific ingredient is optional, but there are no substitutions. A list of ingredients will be included in the materials distributed at the restaurant.
